Heavy Equipment Mechanic- Shop Technician Oakville-based dealer of industrial cranes, boom attachments and a manufacturer of heavy-duty forklift trucks customizable to their multi-industry clients. They are seeking a Shop Mechanic- Shop Technician to add to the team. Mainly an "in-shop" role with some fieldwork on occasion - as a small business there is a need to wear many hats. Duties & Responsibilities to include:Installing hydraulic hoses and fittingsAlign components for assembly, manually or with hoist, bolt, screw and rivet parts together using hand & power toolsInspect, operate, and test completed machines to verify functioning, machine capabilities or conformance to customer specificationsRework, repair, or replace damaged parts or assembliesRead and interpret assembly blueprints or specification manualsFasten or install wiring, hydraulic, and electrical components to form assembliesMaintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electric systems, and engines including diesel/gasoline/propane on high capacity forklifts and cranesAble to diagnose and troubleshoot fuel systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and propane systemsPerform regular routine service, preventative maintenanceComplete service documentationPerform safety inspectionsMaintain a safe/clean work environment and be flexible with changing prioritiesTend to emergency service calls on equipment that has broken down in the fieldQualifications & Skills:Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Licensed with 5+ years of experienceStrong mechanical background including engines, electrical and hydraulicComputer diagnostic experienceSolid understanding of schematics and diagramsPossess own tools, valid driver's license, clean driver's abstractSelf-motivated team player, good attention to detail, integrity and initiative What you can expect:Competitive Salary, $25-$35/ hourCompetitive BenefitsThe beautiful state-of-the-art facility with great amenitiesGreat company culture, tight-knit social team Uniforms and PPE supplied7 am- 4 pm, no hours on weekends, no overtimeLunchroom and summer BBQs
