CES 2026: Live updates on the latest gadgets at the biggest tech event of the year

Posted on 8 January 2026 By jobuzo

We’re about one week into 2026, and it’s already turning out to be a busy year. In the tech industry, things have started with a bang at the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which officially opened January 6 in Las Vegas. But with a number of pre-show events and press conferences, CES 2026 has basically felt like a week-long event already.

You can scroll down through our liveblog below to get a recap of all that happened this week so far, but here’s a quick refresher. Monday (January 5) was press day, which saw many companies host press conferences to showcase their announcements. For example, Lego unveiled its new Smart Brick technology, and NVIDIA showed off its latest AI announcements for autonomous cars. Even before that, on Sunday night, Samsung held its First Look presentation, where it unveiled products across its home entertainment and appliance portfolios.

On Tuesday, the showfloor opened and we published our in-person impressions and thoughts of the new Pebble Round smartwatch and Index 01 AI ring. We waded through an endless parade of robots, including Dreame’s slightly terrifying robot vacuum concept and Lovense’s Emily “companion” doll. That evening, Lenovo held a press conference that saw NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan and AMD CEO Lisa Su take the same stage, alongside a mix of other notable names in tech (and elsewhere).

This is our last day running this liveblog, and we’ll be announcing our Best of CES 2026 winners. It will be the culmination of months of hard work, involving researching and vetting hundreds of companies, and meeting with dozens of them. Engadget’s team on the ground has been hard at work, covering pre-show events, checking out new gadgets in person and writing them up all for you to read wherever you are.

You can already catch up on the things we’ve seen so far by scrolling down below, or if you prefer you can go to our long, organized summary of the biggest announcements from CES 2026.

For the rest of the day, we’ll continue to share all the biggest news (and also maybe some medium and small tidbits) as it happens. You’ll also get insight and commentary on other goings-on here in Las Vegas, whether that be random celebrity sightings, odd weather phenomena or snack evaluations. Keep this page open, and you might just feel like you’re here at CES 2026 with us!
