The second day meeting of the elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives’ group is held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, March 31, 2026. U Nyo Saw was elected vice president by the group of military representatives from both houses of Myanmar’s Union Parliament on Tuesday, according to the Information Team of the National Defense and Security Council. Min Aung Hlaing was elected vice president by the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) group with a majority of votes, while Nan Ni Ni Aye was elected by the Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) group. YANGON, March 31 (Xinhua) — U Nyo Saw was elected vice president by the group of military representatives from both houses of Myanmar’s Union Parliament on Tuesday, according to the Information Team of the National Defense and Security Council.

Elected representatives from Myanmar’s Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) and Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) on the same day elected a vice president each from among their respective candidates.

Min Aung Hlaing was elected vice president by the Pyithu Hluttaw group with a majority of votes, while Nan Ni Ni Aye was elected by the Amyotha Hluttaw group.

The presidential electoral college, composed of all representatives of the Union Parliament, will elect the president from among the three vice presidents. ■
