Former JPMorgan banker Chirayu Rana has hired a prominent attorney known for representing Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers in his lawsuit claiming that he was forced to be a “sex slave.”
Daniel Kaiser, a partner at New York law firm Kaiser, Saurborn & Mair, will represent Rana, reported NY Post. One of the Epstein accusers represented by Kaiser was Jennifer Araoz, who accused the sex offender and his associates of grooming her for sex since 14.
Rana’s lawsuit was filed against JPMorgan executive director Lorna Hajdini in April, alleging that she drugged and sexually assaulted him.
The lawsuit, filed in a New York court, claims that Hajdini not only drugged and sexually abused him but also threatened his career. Hajdini has denied all allegations, and her legal team said she “categorically denied” any misconduct.
A JPMorgan spokesperson said an internal investigation, which reviewed emails, phone records, and witness accounts, found no evidence supporting the claims. The spokesperson also noted that the complainant did not cooperate.
Sources quoted by the Post claimed that JPMorgan offered Rana $1 million to drop his claims, but he turned it down and sought a payout “north of $20 million.”
Earlier, it was reported that Rana allegedly consulted a legal chatbot in July 2024 and the screenshots of the exchange went viral online. In the conversation, he described similar allegations like being raped and drugged by a boss. Interestingly, these allegation were attributed to Morgan Stanley instead of JP Morgan, while the abuser was referred to as “he”.
Rana had previously worked at Morgan Stanley while he also had stints at Houlihan Lokey, Credit Suisse and the Carlyle Group.
