'They are going to drop the hammer on him': Donald Trump's former 'fixer' has a warning for Elon Musk

‘They are going to drop the hammer on him’: Donald Trump’s former ‘fixer’ has a warning for Elon Musk

A former “fixer” of US President Donald Trump has warned entrepreneur Elon Musk about Trump’s retribution after the feud between the duo escalated over the weekend. Trump went ballistic on Musk on Sunday after the Tesla CEO  launched “America Party” over Trump’s ‘big beautiful bill’.

Lawyer Michael Cohen, in an interview with MSNBC, called the feud “political guerrilla warfare at the highest level”. “They are going to drop the hammer on him out of nowhere, when he least expects it. That’s the playbook,” Cohen said.

Cohen was an American lawyer who served as an attorney for Trump and the vice president of the Trump Organisation and personal counsel to Trump. Often being described as his fixer, Trump was later convicted on felony charges based largely on the onetime loyal fixer’s testimony against his former boss. Cohen testified that Trump directed him to pay off a porn star before the 2016 election, and then approved a plan to falsify business records to cover it up.

Cohen, who claims to have faced Trump’s ire after he turned on the US  President midway through his presidency, said the retaliation came in the form of personal smears, weaponisation of the Justice Department, and targeting of Musk’s companies.

The lawyer predicted there is every chance for the feud to escalate further, due to “the size of the two men’s egos”.

“Elon Musk has massive power, and here’s the problem with that,” he said. “Trump craves relevance, Elon Musk craves dominance. Very big difference. You’re talking about an immovable force trying to smash into something that’s indestructible,” said Cohen, stating how the feud will be “a war like nobody has seen maybe in all of history”.

He further took a dig at Musk, comparing him to former advisers Rudy Giuliani and Jared Kushner. Cohen said the Tesla CEO was the latest in a long list of men who wanted to influence Trump by “whispering in the ear”.

Cohen warned that it was never going to end well for Musk, stating he was never “more powerful than the President and never richer than the country.”

On Sunday, Trump went on a tirade against Elon Musk, accusing him of being a “train wreck” and “off the rails”. Trump blasted Musk for the formation of the new political party, adding that the “system seems not designed for them.”
