A renowned biographer of President Donald Trump has revealed how the US President’s recent feud with entrepreneur Elon Musk has altered his equation with Vice President JD Vance.
Michael Wolff, who authored million-selling Fire and Fury on Donald Trump’s first stint in the White House, has claimed that Trump is now paranoid about JD Vance taking his place, thanks to Elon Musk’s urging Vance to replace Trump.
Musk has turned Vance into an “existential threat to Trump” and the fear has made him even more suspicious of Vance, Wolff told the Daily Beast Podcast. Wolff, who claims to have seen pictures of Trump partying with girls at a Jeffrey Epstein party, said Trump always had mixed feelings about Vance and considered him an “unlikely Republican” whose “hardcore support is in the tech bro community.”
Wolff claimed that Trump had to choose Vance because Musk’s support, which was worth hundreds of millions of dollars, came with that condition. Trump will now scrutinise Vance “ever more closely” after the feud with Musk left him vulnerable, the author claimed.
“He will set up what we will see as a set of tests that Vance is going to have to endure and pass,” Wolff said, adding that Vance will now have to “profess his absolute loyalty to Trump” to avoid being marginalised within the administration.
Trump fears come from Musk’s allegation that Trump was named in the Epstein files. “The Epstein stuff floats around Trump as a consistent threat, as a consistent silver bullet really,” Wolff said.
Wolff said that Trump demanded flattery on a constant basis and it has to be seen whether Vance can do that.
As for Vance, the Vice President had to profess his loyalty to Trump amid the feud, by stating on X that “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
Meanwhile, White House Communications Director Steven Chung dismissed Wolff’s allegations as “blatant lies and fabrications” and called him a “blithering idiot “. “He is an imbecile of the highest order and his Trump Derangement Syndrome-addled brain has caused him to lead a miserable existence devoid of reality,” Chung was quoted by Daily Beast.
