Days after the tragic death of Charlie Kirk, reports have claimed that the slain MAGA firebrand once said that homosexual people should be stoned to death.

This comes as a viral video uploaded by X user HotSpotHotSpot showed the conservative influencer responding to YouTuber identified as ‘Ms Rachel’, who quoted from the Bible verse Levictus 19:18. It reads: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself”. She cited the verse to defend Pride Month celebrations.

To this, Kirk said, “Ms. Rachel, you might wanna crack open that Bible of yours, in a lesser referenced part of the same part of scripture is in Leviticus 18 is that thou shall lay with another man, shall be stoned to death. Just sayin’!”

“So, Ms. Rachel, you quote Leviticus 19, love your neighbor as yourself. The chapter before affirms God’s perfect law when it comes to sexual matters,” he added, countering the YouTuber.

The claims that Kirk endorsed stoning gay people was fact-checked by Snopes, which stated that he did not directly call for such punishment. He actually used the verse to counter the claims of Ms Rachel. But his mention about “God’s perfect law” was misiterpreted by social media users as endorsement for stoning of gay people.

Author Stephen King was among those who shared the video, claiming that Kirk “advocated stoning gays to death.”

However, Senator Ted Cruz was quick to slam King as a “horrible, evil, twisted liar”, to which King replied: “This is what I get for reading something on Twitter w/o [without] fact-checking. Won’t happen again.”

Later he apologised on X, saying, “I apologize for saying Charlie Kirk advocated stoning gays. What he actually demonstrated was how some people cherry-pick Biblical passages.”
