The Chinese Foreign Ministry and relevant embassies and consulates are in the process of urgently organizing the evacuation of Chinese citizens from Iran and Israel, said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun at a regular news briefing on Tuesday.
Guo said Chinese authorities had immediately activated the emergency response mechanism, urging both Israel and Iran to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and institutions.
Guo added that Chinese authorities had promptly issued relevant alerts and guidelines, maintained continuous communication with Chinese citizens and organizations in the region, guided them on implementing safety precautions and emergency avoidance measures, and actively assisted in the evacuation of Chinese nationals.
Some Chinese citizens have already been safely evacuated to neighboring countries, Guo said.
