Volodymyr Zelenskyy is next to speak, and he thanks EU and UK leaders for their “support” and “readiness to keep helping”.

He says: “Today, all the partners confirmed that next year they will continue to support Ukraine, our country, our resilience, especially the financial support, which is crucial.”

The Ukrainian president goes on to say that Russia is “carrying out a campaign of terror against our energy system” to make “the winter cold a tool of torment and pressure on Ukraine, our people, and on our defence”.

The aim is “to break us”, which is “why our defence means everything that truly stops Russia from killing, destroying, and terrorising”.

He goes on to say that in the coalition of the willing meeting this afternoon, he urged partner countries to “focus on what’s most practical and effective”.

He also says that Ukraine is “promoting a more meaningful approach to diplomacy”, which “matters only when it can lead to real decisions”. He calls for pressure on Russia through sanctions and seizing Russian assets.

Zelenskyy thanks Donald Trump for the sanctions he has imposed on Russian oil companies.

He reiterates his call to be provided with US long-range Tomahawk missiles, and thanks Sir Keir Starmer for the provision of Storm Shadow missiles.

“There must be no option left for Russia except to end the war and return peace to our country,” he says.
