A 34-year-old man died in hospital after being involved in an accident between two lorries on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway on June 25.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at about 1.55pm and two people were taken to hospital.

The deceased was a passenger in one of the lorries and needed to be extricated with hydraulic rescue equipment after he was trapped. He was unconscious when taken to hospital.

The driver of the lorry he was in, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death. The other man taken to hospital was the 32-year-old driver of the other lorry.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said both men were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Investigations are ongoing.

Mentioning the accident on social media platform X at 2.02pm, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) advised motorists to avoid three of the four lanes on the CTE, where the accident had occurred.
