Elon Musk, who is at loggerheads with President Donald Trump, has hinted at entering the US politics and suggested the name of his new political party: The America Party.
Revealing the results of his poll on X, asking whether it was time to create a new political party in the US, Musk said he garnered support from at least 80 per cent of respondents.
“The people have spoken. A new political party is needed in America to represent the 80% in the middle!” Musk wrote, “And exactly 80% of people agree. This is fate.” In a follow-up tweet, Musk revealed the name of the political party, calling it “The America Party”.
Responding to Elon Musk’s poll, First Take on ESPN host Stephen A Smith endorsed the idea of a centrist political party to rival the Democrats and Republicans. “Mr. @elonmusk I’m all for moving America to the CENTER. I’m definitely down for that cause! Sign me up!!!”
Musk had earlier slammed Trump’s “big, beautiful bill”, calling it a “disgusting abomination”. The President said he was “very disappointed” with the former DOGE chief, saying his friendship with Musk may not survive.
Musk hit back at Trump again, saying the Republican would have lost the presidential election against Kamala Harris if he had not backed him.
The President slammed Musk for betrayal, threatening to cut the billionaire’s government contracts. He even went on to call Musk “a man who has lost his mind”.
Musk then said it is “time to drop the really big bomb”, saying Trump is in the Epstein files. “That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
While the billionaire businessman mulls entering politics, previous personalities who floated political parties in the US have not been able to make inroads into the votebanks of the Republicans and Democrats.
