A 34-year-old man died in hospital after being involved in an accident between two lorries on the Central Expressway (CTE) towards the Seletar Expressway on June 25.<\/p>\n

The police said they were alerted to the accident at about 1.55pm and two people were taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

The deceased was a passenger in one of the lorries and needed to be extricated with hydraulic rescue equipment after he was trapped. He was unconscious when taken to hospital.<\/p>\n

The driver of the lorry he was in, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death. The other man taken to hospital was the 32-year-old driver of the other lorry.<\/p>\n

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said both men were taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n

Mentioning the accident on social media platform X at 2.02pm, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) advised motorists to avoid three of the four lanes on the CTE, where the accident had occurred.<\/p>\n

At 5.20pm, LTA said the congestion on the CTE had stretched to the Cairnhill Circle entrance, about 6km away.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
