Emily Henry<\/strong> has another tale to tell. <\/span><\/p>\n

The author’s<\/span> novel<\/span> Funny Story<\/span><\/em> will soon be getting its own<\/span> movie<\/span> on<\/span> Netflix<\/span>,<\/span> multiple<\/span> outlets<\/span> confirmed Jan. 8. The news comes just one day before Henry’s<\/span> People We Meet On Vacation<\/span><\/em> is set to premiere on the platform. <\/span><\/p>\n

Funny Story<\/span><\/em>, published in 2024, follows children’s librarian Daphne<\/span>,<\/span> who is in the midst of coping with a breakup after her fiancé Peter<\/span> realized<\/span> that he is in love with his childhood best friend, Petra.<\/span> Out of necessity, Daphne becomes roommates with Petra’s<\/span> ex Miles, with the two forming a bond and a plan to get back at their exes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Henry is set to write the script for the streaming adaptation, according to<\/span> Variety<\/span><\/em>,<\/span> which reported<\/span> that there is no director or casting information available at this time. <\/span><\/p>\n

Henry’s<\/span> Happy Place<\/span><\/em>—originally published in 2023—is also being adapted at Netflix, but has shifted from a TV series into a film about former couple Harriet and Wyn who pretend to still be together during a trip with friends.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
