President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Thursday held a closed-door meeting on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

The meeting between the two leaders met for a “brief one-on-one conversation” and spoke for around one hour behind closed doors, revealed Zelenskyy spokesperson Serhii Nykyforov.<\/p>\n

Following the meeting, Trump said, “I met President Zelenskyy here; the meeting was good. We (US delegation) are meeting President Putin today or tomorrow.”<\/p>\n

‘The war has to end’<\/b><\/h2>\n

When asked what would be his message to Putin, Trump said, “The war has to end. A lot of people have been killed”.<\/p>\n

This comes a day after Trump called Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin ‘stupid’ for not signing a peace deal. He recalled that the US almost made Russia agree to a deal several times but Zelenskyy didn’t agree, “It’s a very difficult balance…it’s a blood bath. It’s horrible what’s happening. Drones are killing thousands of people a week. We have to get it stopped.”<\/p>\n

“I believe they’re at a point now where they come together and get a deal done. And if they don’t, they’re stupid; it’s for both of them. And I know they’re not stupid. But if they don’t get this done, they are stupid. So, I don’t want to insult anyone, but you got to get this deal done. Too many people are dying. It’s not worth it,” the US president added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
