\n Johnson says Putin can’t be reasoned with – and pushes countries to take action which would make ‘huge difference’\n <\/p>\n

Former UK prime minister Boris Johnson has been speaking on Swedish TV about the war in Ukraine and Donald Trump’s ambition to win the Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n

Asked whether he deserves the award, Johnson said: “I think Trump will deserve the peace prize if he gives the Ukrainians what they need to ensure their future as a free, independent European democracy.<\/p>\n

“I think there are things he can do that will really help that. Give them the Tomahawks [missiles] that they need to take out the drone factories, take out the shadow fleet… there’s much more that could be done,” he told presenter Carina Bergfeldt.<\/p>\n

Johnson went on to outline something all European countries can do to support Ukraine.<\/p>\n

“Give the Ukrainians the access to Putin’s frozen cash that is sitting in all of our capitals, we have about $15bn worth in the UK alone – that could make a huge difference to Ukraine,” he said.<\/p>\n

Johnson also said that Putin can’t be reasoned with when it comes to the war.<\/p>\n

“He must be met with robust support for Ukraine, that’s the only thing that will work,” he added.<\/p>\n
