Russia continued its aerial attacks on Ukraine last night, striking communities far from the front line with drones and missiles.<\/p>\n

In Chernivtsi, the head of the region’s military administration said two people were killed as a result of the strikes.<\/p>\n

A total of 14 people were injured in the region, including four people who remain in serious condition, Ruslan Zaparnyuk added.<\/p>\n

He said several residential buildings, shops, administrative buildings and vehicles were also damaged in the city.<\/p>\n

In Lviv, officials said four people were injured following attacks in the city, which sits around 45 miles from the Polish border.<\/p>\n

Poland’s air force said on X that the country scrambled fighter jets to protect its airspace amid the attack. <\/p>\n

“Duty fighter pairs have been scrambled, and ground-based air defence and radar reconnaissance systems have reached the highest state of readiness,” it said.<\/p>\n

There were also more strikes on Kharkiv, where a previous attack only yesterday damaged a maternity hospital, as well as in the capital city Kyiv.<\/p>\n
