The attack, which happened on 7 May 2024 in their Taman Desa Bertam home in Melaka, Malaysia, transpired after the 39-year-old victim went out to buy vegetables without asking for his permission.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_633429\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><noscript><\/noscript>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-633429\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Source: Malaysia Gazette<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to Malaysia news outlet the New Straits Times (NST), the accused, See Yong Fei, had punched his wife&rsquo;s arms and kicked her back, leaving her with multiple fractures.<\/p>\n<h3>Attack triggered by wife&rsquo;s solo market trip<\/h3>\n<p>It was reported that See had been enraged that his wife had left home to buy vegetables at the market without his permission.<\/p>\n<p>He also took issue with her socialising with others.<\/p>\n<p>When he found out about her market trip, he punched and kicked her repeatedly, causing serious injuries to her face, arms, and back.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jobuzo.com\/en\/12-weeks-jail-for-school-it-support-technician-who-took-upskirt-videos-of-teachers\/\" class=\"template-1\"><span class=\"cta\">News :<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">&lt;div&gt;12 weeks' jail for school IT support technician who took upskirt videos of teachers&lt;\/div&gt;<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>After the attack, he confined her to their home.<\/p>\n<p>The victim later managed to escape while her husband was at work by secretly contacting a friend, who took her to lodge a police report.<\/p>\n<p>She was subsequently brought to Melaka Hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n<h3>Prosecutor called for harsher sentence<\/h3>\n<p>During the hearing, Deputy Public Prosecutor Syaza Nur Sharif urged the court to impose a fitting sentence, highlighting the severity of the injuries.<\/p>\n<p>See&rsquo;s charge carried a maximum prison term of seven years and a fine upon conviction.<\/p>\n<p>However, defence lawyer Kelvinder Singh Sidhu appealed for leniency and asked for the minimum jail term and fine, arguing that this was See&rsquo;s first offence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"internal-linking-related-contents\"><a href=\"https:\/\/jobuzo.com\/en\/migrant-acquitted-in-first-trial-over-us-border-military-zones\/\" class=\"template-1\"><span class=\"cta\">News :<\/span><span class=\"postTitle\">Migrant acquitted in first trial over US border military zones<\/span><\/a><\/div><p>He also said the accused earns RM3,000 (S$900) a month as a contractor while supporting five young children and is the main caretaker of his ailing father.<\/p>\n<p>The victim no longer lives with him following the incident.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also read: Man in Taiwan punches wife in the head over work dispute, she dies after assault<br><\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"oVKlJaQ0Bi\" readability=\"0\">\n<p>Man in Taiwan punches wife in the head over work dispute, she dies after assault<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><i>Have news you must share?
