Indeed, the<\/span> Saturday Night Live<\/span><\/em> alum’s decision<\/span> to include a subtle nod<\/span> to his late<\/span> Grown Ups<\/span><\/em> costar in<\/span> Happy Gilmore 2<\/span><\/em>—<\/span>a quick clip<\/span> of Cameron’s Disney Channel days sneakily shown on a TV screen in the background—was a no-brainer.<\/span><\/p>\n

“This was just a moment where we were like, ‘What should we throw on the TV?’” Adam told<\/span> The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/em> in an interview published July 29. “We said, ‘Might as well throw Cameron in there. He’s the man. Keep him part of our family.’ And so that’s why we did it.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus, the tribute was rooted in the<\/span> 50 First Dates<\/span><\/em> star’s friendship with Cameron,<\/span> who died in 2019<\/span> at age 20 after experiencing a seizure in his sleep.<\/span><\/p>\n
