Carrie Underwood Reveals Son’s Priceless Reaction to Her American Idol Gig (Exclusive)<\/p>\n

Carrie Underwood<\/strong> has been blown away by her time as an<\/span> American Idol<\/span><\/em> judge.<\/span><\/p>\n

And while the former contestant has received some criticism for being too harsh when it comes to her own critiques, Carrie believes that her remarks are for the best.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Sometimes I get in trouble from people like, ‘How dare she say that it wasn’t perfect?’” the 42-year-old shared on<\/span> SiriusXM’s The Highway<\/span> on Sept. 24. “And I’m like, I just want everybody to learn and that’s part of it. And nobody wants to just hear that they’re amazing all the time.”<\/span><\/p>\n

And while she joked that “maybe some people do,” the “Before He Cheats” singer noted that constant praise is “not gonna get you anywhere.”<\/span><\/p>\n

As Carrie—who shares sons<\/span> Isaiah<\/strong>, 10, and<\/span> Jacob<\/strong>, 6, with husband<\/span> Mike Fisher<\/strong>—explained, she and her fellow judges<\/span> Luke<\/strong> Bryan<\/strong> and<\/span> Lionel<\/strong> Richie<\/strong> are “coming at it from a very constructive place.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
