The Role

  • The Compliance Associate reports to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs and provides support across the firm’s activities in managing regulatory change publications and engagement with regulatory bodies. They will be required to prioritise and, after a period of induction, work independently.
  • The individual should be able to proactively learn the overall business and compliance function to support the Regulatory Affairs team in executing their duties, be able to understand and analyse complex issues to come to conclusions supported by evidence and have attention to detail.
  • They will need to be able to work on confidential and sensitive matters, exercising good judgement in the execution of their role and putting the needs of the business first and in line with our regulatory obligations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Engaging in regulatory horizon scanning to record, track and escalate relevant new regulatory publications;
  • Manage assigned publications through the RAPID2 system;
  • Assisting with the analysis of regulatory changes and liasing with other second line of defence Risk colleagues to assist the business in implementing any changes required by the deadlines imposed
  • Supporting the submission of regulatory returns and management of the reporting schedule for the UK business
  • Assisting the Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs with the schedule of any regulatory engagement activities.
  • Supporting other ad-hoc projects as the need arises
Requirements

  • Proven experience working in Compliance in banking/financial services; Commercial banking experience would be a plus
  • Strong judgement and critical thinking skills
