The dead body of a 15-year-old girl was found in a decomposing state inside a Tesla that was registered to ‘Romantic Homicide’ singer D4vd early this month. The girl was identified this week as the missing Celeste Rivas, an Inland Empire, California, resident who disappeared in April 2024, when she was 13.
The severely decomposed body was found inside the Tesla after it was impounded and sent to a Hollywood tow yard on September 8. Someone noticed a foul odour from the vehicle, and authorities were alerted. According to sources, the vehicle was abandoned in the Hollywood Hills five days before it was impounded.
The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to rule the girl’s death as a homicide, and a wider investigation is taking place, the LA Times reported.
The police are also looking at photographs for evidence and are trying to determine Rivas’ movements before her body was found. The exact time and cause of her death remain unknown, as the body had decomposed.
Singer D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, 20, has been cooperating with officers for the investigation. The police are trying to determine if there was any connection between the singer and Rivas.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner who determined the body was of Rivas said that she had a tattoo that said “Shhh…” on her right index finger.
A TMZ article reported early this week that D4vd also had the same tattoo on his right index finger. The tattoo, however, is quite popular and other celebs, like Lindsay Lohan and Lilly Allen, have similar ones.
The medical examiner also said that the deceased’s body was inside the vehicle for “an extended period of time before being found.”
Celeste’s mother, who spoke to the TMZ last week, said that she was suspicious of the Tesla discovery because her daughter had said she had a boyfriend named David.
Rivas’ family has founded a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her funeral.

D4vd is a billboard charting artist raised in Houston and has had many collaborations with artists like Kali Uchis, Stray Kids’ Hyunjin, Laufey, and 21 Savage. His chart-topping song Romantic Homicide was released in 2022. He also created music for Fortnite. He has about 2.1 million followers on Instagram.
Since early August, he has been on tour promoting his debut album. The US tour was to end this month and resume in Europe in October. However, the singer has cancelled all shows after the body was found.
On Wednesday, two brands, Crocs and Hollister, said they were removing the singer from their ad campaign. Singer Kali Uchis recently announced that she was removing her collaboration with D4vd from streaming services.
