Hollywood Stars Over 70 Who Are Still Rocking The Red Carpet

Posted on 15 June 2026 By jobuzo

Today, it seems like youth is prized above all else in Hollywood, especially with films like “The Substance” suggesting that celebrity women age out of acting roles as soon as they hit 50. But many inspirational actresses remind us that aging isn’t a hindrance but a privilege. Many women over 70 are still jaw-droppingly stunning and enjoying the spotlight well into their 70s and beyond.

Sophia Loren

At 91 years old, this legendary Italian film star continues to exude beauty and grace on the red carpet. She once told Vogue, “Never more than at the threshold of 90 have I realized that age is a state of mind.” She took on a fictional role in 2020 and, in 2021, participated in a fictionalized documentary about her iconic career. In it, she said, “I wake up, and it is hard for me to imagine that I’ve been on this earth for almost one century because I still can see a long road ahead of me with so many things to do, places to see, and people to meet.”

Goldie Hawn

At the age of 80, Goldie continues to thrive. She recently appeared at a string of promotion events for her children’s book “The After-School Kindness Crew” and is as sharp and camera-ready as ever. Throughout her career, she’s done everything, from producing to acting, and she’s still innovating in new fields, even in her 80s.

Cher

Cher seems to have found the fountain of youth, and beyond her appearance, she doesn’t let her age slow her down in anything else she does. While she was known as a pop goddess, she also became a leading lady in Hollywood, and at 80 years old, she’s still a veritable sex symbol, and her 2026 Met Gala appearance, complete with a leather corset and platinum waves, proves that.

Susan Sarandon

This A-lister has helped shape the movie world as we know it today, from “Thelma & Louise” to “Dead Man Walking” which are just a couple of accolades on a very long, very impressive list. She’s always been a force to be reckoned with and a staunch advocate for women in the arts. Now in her 70s, she continues to dazzle on the red carpet and makes a statement wherever she shows up.

Dame Judi Dench

Despite being 91 years old, Dame Judi Dench has film credits that are as recent as 2026. Her career spans six decades, and she’s won tons of awards in film and TV, including six BAFTAs and an Academy Award. She’s known for her graceful, dignified demeanor, which continues to leave people’s jaws on the floor.

Jane Fonda

Through her long career, Jane Fonda has done it all. And she’s still doing it all! At 88 years old, she’s still working with her longtime friend Lily Tomlin on the well-known comedy series “Grace and Frankie,” which lasted seven seasons. While the show was being released, she did the 2017 film “Our Souls at Night” and also had a starring role in “The Correspondent,” which was released in 2024.

Jessica Lange

Lange debuted in the 1976 remake of “King Kong,” but she’s stayed relevant throughout the decades, with Gen Z being more familiar with her from “American Horror Story.” Her level of range is impressive. She’s also shown up on Broadway stages but still hasn’t abandoned the screen. In April 2026, it was confirmed that she would be coming back to “American Horror Story” for a 13th season, and we anticipate that this won’t be her final appearance!

Glenn Close

Many people recognize Glenn Close from her performance in the “Knives Out” film series, specifically the third installment, “Wake Up Dead Men.” She earned her fanbase from standout roles on Broadway stages before she moved on to film and TV, securing eight Academy Award nominations and three Primetime Emmy Awards. Now 79, her most recent role was in “All’s Fair” alongside Kim Kardashian and a bevy of famous co-stars.

Meryl Streep began as a stage actor, like many of the ladies on this list. She’s one of the most iconic actors to exist and is a technical master at her craft, with two degrees in drama and a nearly obsessive approach toward honing her craft. She rose to fame with “Sophie’s Choice,” but her recent work includes a diverse range of projects such as the 2021 political satire “Don’t Look Up,” “The Devil Wears Prada” and its sequel, and “Only Murders in the Building.” At 76, she’s still going strong.
