Caught naked in car: Man hurt after confronting wife’s alleged lover in Sengkang carpark

Posted on 2 July 2025 By jobuzo

A man who went looking for his wife late at night ended up injured after allegedly catching her naked with another man in a car at a multi-storey carpark in Sengkang.

In an attempt to stop the car from leaving, Wu Yongsheng (transliterated) climbed onto its bonnet. But the driver accelerated, causing Wu to fall and suffer abrasions to his face, chest, hands and knees.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the driver, 50-year-old Eugene Chia Hiok Seah, now faces two charges: one for reckless conduct causing hurt, and another under the Miscellaneous (Public Order and Nuisance) Act for public exposure.

Chia pleaded not guilty to the reckless conduct charge. His trial began on July 1. He pleaded guilty to the public exposure charge.

Testifying in court, Wu said he had been waiting for his wife to return home in the early hours of June 29, 2024. Concerned by her absence, he went to the carpark at Block 278 Compassvale Bow around 2.13am to look for her.

There, he recognised a parked vehicle by its licence plate as one belonging to Chia – a man Wu said had previously given his wife a ride home. Suspicious, Wu began filming a video with his phone.

“I didn’t know if they were in the car at the time, so I stood near it for a while and started filming. Later, when I got closer to the vehicle, I realised they were naked.”

Wu said he tried to open the car door and told the pair to get out, but they ignored him. When Chia started the engine and attempted to drive off, Wu climbed onto the bonnet to stop the car.

“I lost my balance and tried to hold on to anything I could. But he accelerated, and I fell,” Wu added.

He was taken to hospital and underwent surgery at 6am. He later filed a police report, identifying Chia as his wife’s alleged lover.

Wu said the fall left him in pain and covered in blood. He also requested paramedics and nurses to photograph his injuries. “I wanted to know how serious the injury was.”

He was given 14 days of medical leave and required follow-up treatment. “I felt pain in my toes and discomfort when walking. There are still scars on my face,” he told the court.

The injuries left him unable to engage in strenuous physical activity, and he continued to receive treatment until October 2024.

When asked about Chia, Wu said he knew him as a friend of his wife. “He would often come by to chat with her,” he added.

A site visit by Shin Min Daily News on July 1, 2025, found the upper levels of the multi-storey carpark were largely empty.
