Incoming season five cast member Minnie Driver, who’s playing Sylvie’s royal-by-marriage friend Princess Jane, has found love with filmmaker Addison O’Dea following high-profile relationships with the likes of Matt Damon and Josh Brolin.
“If I look at my history, what it did was make me want to be married so much and then choose men who were so not the right men to be married to,” Minnie told the Sunday Times in 2024. “So I would carry on longing to be married and to have that conservative version [of a relationship], find men who had no interest in that, and then if one did, run a mile.”
She was briefly engaged to Brolin before they broke up in 2001. In hindsight, she said, marrying the Weapons star “would have been, I think, the biggest mistake of my life.”
“But now,” Minnie continued, “I’m with someone who doesn’t want to get married but who is the most devoted, loving, extraordinary… Everything I could have wanted in my childhood idea of a husband, he actually is.”
The actress welcomed son Henry as a single mom in 2008, not revealing until 2012 that his father was a writer on her FX series The Riches.
“We weren’t together and he wasn’t directly in the business,” she told The Observer, “so I chose to protect him and not have a rain of publicity.”
