Hilaria Baldwin Slams Critics Saying 12-Year-Old Daughter Carmen Dresses “Way Older” for Her Age

Hilaria Baldwin is defending her daughter Carmen.

The Baldwins star clapped back at online criticism over an outfit her and husband Alec Baldwin‘s 12-year-old wore in a recent Instagram video.

Several users thought the white tank top, short khaki skirt, black tights and pearl body chain Carmen donned in the clip—which showed her lip-syncing to a song alongside her younger sisters María Lucía, 4, and Ilaria, 2—looked too “grown up” for the tween.

“Very uncomfortable to see a 12 year old act this way,” one commenter wrote, while another said Carmen was “way too young to be making video.”

A third commenter added, “Looks way older than 12.”

But Hilaria wasn’t having any of the chatter surrounding her daughter. As she put it in a response video Jan. 20, “My kids are so safe wearing a tank top, skirt and tights. She’s been wearing that her whole life, so why is it making you uncomfortable?”

“Women can do more harm to each other through this kind of comment,” the 42-year-old continued, “because it’s shaming and it’s not inclusive.”
