Iran’s IRGC intelligence chief killed in US-Israeli attack

Posted on 7 April 2026 By jobuzo

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Monday that Majid Khademi, head of its intelligence organization, has been killed in a US and Israeli attack.

In a statement on its official news outlet Sepah News, the IRGC said Khademi “attained martyrdom in a terrorist attack by the US and Israeli enemies” early Monday.

It described Khademi as a “powerful and educated” general, who had “sincerely and bravely” protected Iran and its 1979 Islamic Revolution by serving in various intelligence and security positions.

He was named the IRGC intelligence chief in June last year, after his predecessor, Mohammad Kazemi, was killed during the 12-day war with Israel.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military said in a statement it killed the IRGC’s head of intelligence in an airstrike in Tehran.

It described Khademi as “one of the IRGC’s most senior commanders” who had “accumulated extensive military and security experience over many years.”

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Tehran and several other Iranian cities, killing Iran’s then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and civilians. Iran responded by launching waves of missile and drone strikes targeting Israel and US bases and assets in the Middle East.
