Is Donald Trump trying to ‘cover up’ his health issues like Joe Biden? Speculations rife ahead of press meet

Amid speculations about US President Donald Trump’s health and his whereabouts in the past four days, critics are now blaming the Republican leader for covering up his alleged illness like his predecessor Joe Biden.

This comes as the hashtag, ‘Trump is Dead’, trending on social media after the president disappeared from public eye for at least four days. Trump is set to hold a press meet at 2 pm local time (11.30 pm IST) but it is not clear whether the president will open up about his health issues.

Recently, there have been concerns about Trump’s health as the president was spotted walking unsteadily with swollen ankles. He was also seen with bruised hands but the White House claimed that it was because of constant hand-shaking and use of aspirin.

Even former allies like Nick Fuentes, a far-right political pundit and white nationalist, said there is obviously something going on with Trump and went on to say that “this is literally Biden 2”.

For the unversed, it should be noted that Biden was publicly diagnosed with Stage 5 prostate cancer in May 2025. However, the former president was slammed for keeping his diagnosis under wraps until the cancer advanced to Stage 5.

Some even pointed out that Biden had admitted that he had cancer in a 2022 video. In the clip taken from a presser in Massachusetts, Biden says, “That’s why I, and so damn many other people I grew up with, have cancer.” But the White House had then dismissed his remarks as a typical gaffe from the Democrat.

Following Biden’s diagnosis, Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr slammed the Democrat leader for covering up the diagnosis ahead of the 2024 presidential election from which he dropped out midway.

In July, the White House revealed that Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, which was attributed as the cause of swollen lower legs.

On Monday, Trump said in a post on Truth Social that he has “never felt better” in his life. He was responding to conservative commentator DC Draino, who pointed out that social media users have “comical double standards” when it comes to Biden and Trump.

He pointed out that when Biden skipped public appearances for days, the media would still say he’s “sharp” and “top of his game” even when “he was wearing diapers and napping”. “President Trump puts in more public work hours than any other POTUS in US history and media freaks out if he disappears for 24 hours. Comical double standard,” Draino said in the post.
