Russian plane with 46 passengers goes missing: ‘All communications lost’

Posted on 24 July 2025 By jobuzo

A Russian plane with 46 passengers, including two children, has gone missing in the Amur region, far east of the country bordering China. The An-24 passenger plane of the Angara Airline was on a routine flight when it lost contact.

“An An-24 operated by Angara Airlines failed to make contact at a designated checkpoint a few kilometers from Tynda Airport,” a source said. The plane was performing a regular flight on the  Khabarovsk – Blagoveshchensk – Tynda route, according to Russian news agencies.

The communication with the crew was lost several kilometers from the last airport on the route.

While the reason for the plane’s disappearance is not clear, reports hint that the situation could have been affected by the difficult weather conditions in the region. In Belogorsk, Amur Region, a state of emergency has been in effect since July 24 after a strong storm that left the city without electricity, water supply, and communications.
