Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has strongly condemned Israel’s strikes on Iran, calling them a violation of international law.

In a phone conversation with Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian on Saturday, the crown prince said the attacks undermined Iran’s sovereignty and national security, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

He warned that the Israeli military action had derailed ongoing efforts to resolve tensions over Iran’s nuclear programme and was damaging attempts to calm the situation through dialogue and diplomacy.

Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reiterated the Kingdom’s opposition to the use of force in resolving disputes, stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to settle differences.

His remarks came during a phone call with Iran’s newly elected President Masoud Pezeshkian, following Israel’s missile strikes on Iran on Friday — a rare and deadly escalation that left at least 78 people dead, including senior military officers, nuclear scientists, and top officials.

The two countries continued exchanging further strikes on Saturday till Sunday morning.

The crown prince offered his condolences to President Pezeshkian, the Iranian people, and the families of those killed, and expressed hope for a swift recovery for those who were injured.

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has thanked King Salman of Saudi Arabia for ensuring the welfare of Iranian pilgrims during the Hajj and for providing smooth services until their safe return home.

Moreover, the Crown Prince held a separate phone conversation with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to discuss the fallout from Israel’s recent military strikes on Iran.

In his call with Starmer, the crown prince discussed the latest developments and stressed the need to intensify efforts to ease tensions and resolve disputes through diplomacy, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The Crown Prince also spoke with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan amid growing regional tensions following Israel’s strikes on Iran.

The two leaders reviewed the situation in the region in light of the escalating conflict.
