Special, MediSave, Retirement accounts’ interest rate floor of 4% extended till end-2026

Posted on 22 September 2025 By jobuzo

The Government has extended the 4 per cent interest rate floor for interest earned on all Special, MediSave and Retirement Account (SMRA) monies for another year to end-2026.

This will continue to provide CPF members with certainty on the returns of their CPF savings amid the falling interest rate environment, the CPF Board and Housing Board said in a joint release on Sept 22.

The SMRA interest rate will remain unchanged at the floor rate of 4 per cent per annum from Oct 1 to Dec 31, as the SMRA pegged rate remains below the floor rate of 4 per cent.

The Ordinary Account (OA) interest rate will remain unchanged at the floor rate of 2.5 per cent per annum from Oct 1 to Dec 31, as the OA pegged rate remains below the floor rate of 2.5 per cent.

The concessionary interest rate for HDB housing loans, which is pegged at 0.1 per cent above the OA interest rate, will remain unchanged at 2.6 per cent per annum from Oct 1 to Dec 31.
