More than a third of Ukrainian children remain displaced as the war nears its fourth anniversary, UNICEF has said.
The charity says nearly 2.6 million children are displaced, including more than 791,000 inside Ukraine and nearly 1.8 million living as refugees in other countries.
Many children have been “forced to flee their homes multiple times”, UNICEF said.
Russian attacks have killed or injured more than 3,200 children since Moscow launched its invasion in February 2022, it added.
“Millions of children and families have fled their homes in search of safety, with one in three children remaining displaced four years into this relentless war,” said UNICEF regional director for Europe and Central Asia Regina De Dominicis.
“For children in Ukraine, safety is increasingly hard to come by as attacks on civilian areas continue across the country. In many ways, the war is following these children,” she said.
