The Most Expensive Celeb Divorces Revealed: Jeff Bezos, Kevin Costner and More

Money can’t buy love, but it can buy a divorce.

And in Hollywood, some breakups come with a hefty price tag. After all, when it comes to certain famous couples—from actors to athletes and the tech moguls in between—there’s a lot of net worth in the mix.

Naturally, one of the most expensive divorces from the last decade was that of Jeff Bezos and his now ex-wife MacKenzie Bezos’ split after 25 years of marriage, which ventured into B territory. Yes, billions.

When all was said and done and their divorce was finalized in 2019, multiple outlets reported that MacKenzie walked away with $38.3 billion in Amazon stock—that’s an 11-digit payout. But don’t worry, Jeff made out okay too. According to CNBC, Jeff kept 75 percent of their stock in Amazon, which totaled over $100 billion.

As for what MacKenzie did with her wealth? Following their split, she declared her intention to give away the vast majority of her money—a promise she’s maintained. Just weeks ago, the 55-year-old confirmed she’d donated $7 billion this year alone.
