The Springdale, Arkansas-based company said it had profit of 13 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $1.15 per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 85 cents per share.
The meat producer posted revenue of $13.86 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $474 million, or $1.33 per share. Revenue was reported as $54.44 billion.
