Tell Me Lies' Grace Van Patten Gives Rare Insight on Life With Boyfriend Jackson White On and Offscreen

Tell Me Lies’ Grace Van Patten Gives Rare Insight on Life With Boyfriend Jackson White On and Offscreen

Posted on 3 December 2025 By jobuzo

Grace Van Patten loves being toxic with boyfriend Jackson White—onscreen, that is.

The Tell Me Lies actress relishes in playing the toxic couple Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco on the Hulu show alongside her real-life partner, who she met during the show’s audition process. As for how the pair get into character to portray such a volatile relationship?

“There’s no switching,” Grace quipped in an exclusive interview with E! News. “That’s exactly who we are. What you see is us.”

All “kidding” aside, though, the 29-year-old shared she and Jackson—who confirmed their relationship in October 2022—are not at all like their onscreen personas.

“We are probably the exact opposite, thankfully,” she continued, “which makes it only fun to act those scenes. It is so far from ourselves and our relationship that it’s just fun to be mean and crazy.”

The Nine Perfect Strangers alum added, “Just as an actor, it’s fun to go there, and it makes it even more exciting and safe to do it with someone you really trust. So, it’s really great.”

Plus, she and Jackson have created “a family” with their costars Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Branden Cook, Sonia Mena and Alicia Crowder, which is why Grace said it was “easy” to bring levity to set while filming Tell Me Lies’ third and “most dramatic” season yet, premiering on Hulu Jan. 13.
